Father, Do You Hear Me?

Lyrics:
Night and ev'ry morning,
each and ev'ry day
I kneel by my bedside to pray
Sometimes I wonder
if he's really there
list'ning to the words
of my child-like prayer.

(Chorus)
Father, do you hear me?
please listen as I pray
Help me understand thee
and walk in thy way.
Bless me with thy spirit
to live like thy son,
and in all things may
thy will be done.

Comfort from the Spirit
feelings of sweet peace
answers to my questions
thru promptings I recieve
And yet, I sometimes wonder
if what I know is true.
Father, help me understand
what thou'd have me do.

(Chorus)

(Verses one and two sung together)

About the Song:
This song was written to express my thoughts about the communication of prayer. There have been several times when I've wondered if my prayers were getting through the roof. But as I've tried to do those things that will bring me closer to him. I can feel His closeness. I feel like a little child, wanting to learn more, and wanting to be able to recognize when I'm feeling the spirit.

This song won a certificate of merit from the church's music contest.)
