My Friend

Lyrics by Susan Noyes Anderson

I have a friend who looks different from me.
He comes from far away o-ver the sea.
He speaks a language I can't understand,
but we were friends when he held out his hand.
We became friends when he held out his his hand.

I have a friend, and his name's hard to say.
He doesn't play games that I play,
but he can run and jump high and pretend
and when he's smiling I know he's my friend
He smiles at me and I know he's my friend.

I have a friend, and he's taught me a lot.
Though we look different; inside we're not.
We love each other, and we're glad he came.
My friend looks different but we are the same.
We may look different; inside we're the same.
