Be Strong and of Good Courage
Music and Lyrics for this song were written by Teri Garritson. Teri doesn’t usually write music, but is one of the Young Women leaders in our ward. She told me she had some ideas for a young women song. I think she was hoping I would take those ideas and make a song out of them, but instead, I helped her to write it herself. It turned out beautiful. I believe the music and lyrics were inspired. It was the perfect song to fit the 2010 Young Women’s Theme this year! She is happy to share this song with others. Download just the Vocal Parts or get the full sheet music using the button above. The demo recording was made using some of our Young Women. Enjoy! Continue reading
What He Sees
For a relief society lesson that we had combined with the older young women (the laurels). The instructor had all of the mothers and the daughters that were in the room come up and stand at the front. She asked us what differences we could see. Besides the obvious difference in age, there was really not much of a difference. Afterwards, she had two of the mothers with more than one child there, to stay at the front. She asked the daughters to look at their mothers and tell us what they saw. Afterwards, she had the mothers tell us what they saw as they looked at their daughters. Of course, it was very emotional and touching. After they both sat down, a mother came in the room with a brand new baby girl. She had her come up to the front and tell us what she saw when she looked at her brand new baby. It was an incredible lesson, and reminder that we are all children of God. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could see what He sees? Continue reading

To Know My Savior
I was asked to arrange this song for a sister in my ward who’s grandfather wrote the words of this song, and she wanted to sing the song for her child’s baptism. It was a neat experience to be there, and to feel the wonderful spirit that was there. This recording is of my friend, Rachelle Thompson, her sister, and Tiffany Crapo. Continue reading
Father, Do You Hear Me?
This song was written to express my thoughts about the communication of prayer. There have been several times when I’ve wondered if my prayers were getting through the roof. But as I’ve tried to do those things that will bring me closer to him. I can feel His closeness. I feel like a little child, wanting to learn more, and wanting to be able to recognize when I’m feeling the spirit.
This song won a certificate of merit from the church’s music contest.) Continue reading
